The three days' capacity enhancement training on local government operation act 2074 and right to information to local level elected representatives is accomplished in Dolakha Charikot. The training was organized by HURADEC Nepal Dolakha with joint contribution of USAID/FHI360 funded Civil Society Mutual accountability project and Action-Aid funded community led accountability best practice project.
The participants were the members along with chairpersons of Tamakoshi Gaupalika-07, Baityashwor gaupalika ward no. 02 and Kalinchowk Gaupalika ward no. 1 and 2. The contents of the training were the major provisions in local government operation act 2074 like roles and responsibilities of ward committee, recommendation from ward, local level financial management, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, social mobilization and meaningful participation of target community.
The training was facilitated by district coordination committee chief Dabal Pandey, Deputy Director of HURADEC Dolakha Mr. Raju BK, program coordinators Mr. Sher Bdr. Bhujel and Mukesh Rajak, The chairperson of Federation of Nepalese journalist Mr. Jiban Lama and women right forum coordinator Ms. Menuka Subedi.
The chairpersons from wards have committed to collaborate with HURADEC Nepal for good governance promotion in their respective level. Also, the Executive Director of HURADEC Nepal Mr. Sundar Lamichhane added that they are collaborating and working with local level to uphold good governance and capacity enhancement of local government representatives as well as practical application of public hearing, public audit, social audit or can be collaborated for entire back up of social accountability tools.
