The civil society organization of Dolakha district are committed to improve the internal institutioinal governance. HURADEC Dolakha has organized an orientation on Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) at district level under the Civil Society Mutual Accountability project (CS:MAP) on 25 Nov. 2018 in Charikot with the objective to share the process of internal governacment of CSOs and replicate the Organizational capacity Assessment (OCA). All the participants have committed to utilize the internal governance improvement tools.
During the strategic dialogue and orientation program, capacity development specialist of CS:MAP (MITRA SAMAJ) Mr. Karna Bahadur Nepali has facilitated on concept of civil society, contribution of civil society in social transformation, role of civil society, significance of improving internal governance of CSO, why CS:MAP is contributing on institutional government improvement of the CSO, concept of organizational/Institutional development and OCA tool process in detail. In connection with OCA tool process, Mr. Sundar Lamichhane, executive director of HURADEC also shared the achievements/outcome of the organization after the OCA assessment. He had added that it is needed to apply the OCA tools in other CSOs and it improves the internal governance of the organization, as well as after the expression of interest from the other CSOs, HURADEC will provide technical inputs on the OCA process.
During the program, Pushartha Shrestha, executive director of Tuki organization added that improving the internal governance of the CSOs will increase the trust with stakeholders and Tuki is ready to apply the OCA. As well as District Program Coordinator of RRN Mr. Tank Uprety also uphold that internal governance improvement contribute on reliability among stakeholders and supporting organizations. In addition, district program manager of SEBAK Nepal internal dialogue program, Mr. Prahlad Timilsana explains on need of Organizational capacity assessment subsequently, REIS (District CSOs), ED, Ms Tara Siwakoti also shared the importance of institutional governance promotion and she is ready to apply OCA process in her organization if HURADEC provides technical inputs.
In the interaction meeting, DRR coalition should lead to capacitate the CSOs of Dolakha district and contribute for vibrant CSOs. HEAD coalition of Dolakha has also decided that the monthly meeting of coalition will be held and other CSOs working in agriculture, Health and Education or other sectors will be invited in the networks. The chair of the orientation was Mr. Tank Uprety, coordinator of HEAD coalition, announced by Bimala Budhathoki community reporter of Equal Access and the participants are district CSOs, representatives of cooperative, Federation of Nepalese journalist and FM Radio.
